Crafting Appalachian Wards and Charms
Explore the history and purpose of household protections in Appalachian folk practice while creating simple handmade wards and charms from natural and everyday materials.
This hands-on workshop blends cultural context, practical instruction, and respectful spiritual tradition.
The workshop is held live via an online video link. The first hour focuses on teaching and discussion of Appalachian wards, charms, materials, and methods. An additional hour is spent discussing the materials you may already have at home and how they can be used to create your own charm and/or ward using Appalachian Cunning Woman methods.
Worksheets and printouts are included with the workshop and will be available to download through your confirmation email.
Appalachian folk traditions developed through the blending of several cultural practices over generations, creating a living tradition that is especially well suited to thoughtful adaptation for your own personal practice and needs.
