Waters and Workings

$25.00

Learn how different kinds of water are understood in Appalachian folk practice and how their qualities may be combined for specific purposes. Rather than repeating the material from Carry It to the River, this workshop focuses on selecting, pairing, and working with waters according to their source, movement, condition, and traditional associations while creating a simple system for incorporating water workings into your own practice.

The workshop is held live via an online video link. The first hour focuses on teaching and discussion of the history, traditional associations, and practical uses of different waters. An additional hour is spent discussing the materials and water sources available to you and how they may be thoughtfully incorporated into your own practice using Appalachian Cunning Woman methods.

Worksheets and printouts are included with the workshop and will be available to download through your confirmation email.

Appalachian folk traditions developed through the blending of several cultural practices over generations, creating a living tradition that is especially well suited to thoughtful adaptation for your own personal practice and needs.
